Silent Hill UI
I’m currently working on a side project to redesign the UI of Silent Hill 3. Being a fan of the series, I saw this as an exciting opportunity to explore and experiment with game UI design.

UI
Here’s a look at the original PlayStation UI for Silent Hill 3. While iconic, the design felt clunky and challenging to navigate. It needed a modern update to better suit today’s consoles and enhance accessibility for a wider range of players.

For the style, I wanted to stay true to the original by keeping everything on one screen but making it cleaner and easier to use. The goal is to give it a modern feel while still honoring the classic design. I’m still experimenting with icons to find the right fit.

Explorations
Here are some of the explorations I worked on so far while designing the inventory screen.

Inventory in Progress
For the health bar, I updated it from the original Silent Hill glitch effect, making it more modern while still keeping the dynamic changes to orange or red as the player gets injured. Since the game allows you to inspect objects like books, I kept the 3D rotating item feature on this screen as well to maintain that interactive element.
Example components, including a card displaying movie ratings and another showing music album details.
